Based on the 1953 Le Mans winning car, Racing Green Cars has launched what it claims to be the most faithful reproduction of the C-Type Jaguar.

The car is accurate to an original C-Type down to the last nut and bolt and even includes period features such as original twin Lucas Sports coils, square bodied SU fuel pumps and other electrical equipment, including cotton braided wiring. It incorporates a fully round-tubed chassis frame, correct torsion bar front and rear suspension, accurate aluminium panel work, specially made engine sump, Dunlop 6 and 4-pot calipers, correct steering rack and wishbones, and aluminium rimmed wire wheels. Both the steering column and steering wheel are adjustable for height and reach, as with the original.
Due to its bespoke quality, the Racing Green Cars` C-Type (or the RG C-TYPE as is fast becoming known) is built solely to order and is available exclusively from Racing Green Cars of Ash Vale, Hampshire. The final specification is only variable in minor detail (you can also specify the standard specification, drum-braked, car with twin Sand Cast SU`s) as Racing Green has no plans to supply anything less than faithful reproductions.
The car is fast – depending on final specification, the XK 3.4 engine delivers up to 220 BHP at the wheels, with an overall weight of just 945 kg, translating into a 0 – 60 in 5.6 seconds. Its handling, too, is true to the original by virtue of uncompromised design.
