XK120 M Roadster barn find (Part 9)

25/07/2006

Almost thirteen months to the day, when Chris Window`s amazing `barnfind` XK120 M Roadster was dragged from its resting place of 42 years in a garage in Farnborough, this wonderful car was to be seen not only at Classic Le Mans, but also winding its way through cross-country roads in France and - on only only two occasions - with its bonnet raised due to an electrical gremlin (the points wire had rotted - now resolved).
This achievement is a testimony both to Chris` dogged determination to `get the job done` - properly - and also to the team at Racing Green Cars who ensured maximum support when it really mattered.
A special thanks goes to our Bodyshop and Paintshop team of Stewart & Aaron who gave their free time to prepare and paint the body when, after a hard day`s work, all they really wanted was long, cool, beer.
Without them, the job would not have been finished on schedule.
The event was as spectacular as always - excellent racing,
superb atmosphere and - bearing in mind that the 120 went without its hood - excellent weather.
Hopefully the full story will be featured in a major UK Classic Car magazine before the year is out - details will be posted on our website.
In the meantime, this 1954 Jaguar XK120 M Open Two Seater is serving as everyday Summer transport, just as was originally intended more than half a century ago.
Eccentric?.................. A LITTLE BIT!

FUN?......most definitely.........!
